My name is Aaron Frost. A native of Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom, now making my home a couple hours to the southwest in Ira, Vermont. My dad is a master carpenter, and I grew up surrounded by things handmade by my family, from the home we lived in to much of the furniture that filled it. The craft of working with wood is in my blood and goes back generations.

Natural beauty has always garnered my attention, and as a young teenager I began to explore landscape photography as a hobby. Seeing and savoring the created wonder around me serves as a creative outlet and a means of rest and true enjoyment. As time has allowed, I have worked to hone that hobby into a skill that I enjoy sharing with others.

Aperture & Frame is an endeavor to combine those two skills and artforms into a meaningful and beautiful object that can be provide an element of enjoyment for years to come. Fine art photography paired with a handmade wooden frame.

My scenes and materials are largely local, typically found within a couple hours drive of my home in Ira, Vermont. I work in small batches and runs, typically making 5-6 pieces per month. My wife and family of four children, as well as my full time work as both a minister and carpenter are enough to keep me moving most of the time.
